Missing girl found, back with family

An 8-year-old girl who disappeared from her family’s campsite Friday was found Sunday morning walking along a gravel road about 2  1/2 miles away, authorities said.

Paige Wilson was reunited with her family at a search-and-rescue command post about 9:30 a.m., then taken to Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville as a precaution after she spent two nights in the woods without food or water, according to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office. She was listed in satisfactory condition Monday morning.

The girl had been camping with her family in the Flodelle Creek area in northern Stevens County when she disappeared about 4 p.m. Friday.
