Cost savings big news

I almost missed the four-sentence article in the business section that was headlined “State removes 6,200 from health plan” (Aug. 13).

Evidently, some $20 million will be saved next year alone by removing the unqualified recipients from the health benefit. It’s too bad The Spokesman-Review buried this article deep within its paper, because it is really important and it points out to Washingtonians as well as all Americans that we can and should cut spending instead of raising taxes, no matter how much money you make. It’s amazing when you are forced to take a hard look what results can come about. Perhaps that $20 million can go back to “rich” people to create some jobs in Washington.
