Cleanup planned at climbing park
Volunteers led by North Idaho College’s Outdoor Pursuits program will clean a popular Post Falls climbing park on Sept. 11 as part of a nationwide effort.
Outdoor Pursuits is hosting an Access Fund “Adopt-a-Crag” event at Q’emiln Park from 8 a.m. to noon, an NIC news release said. Participants will clean, develop climbing sites, remove graffiti and maintain trails. The Spokane Mountaineers will provide lunch for volunteers.
Adopt-a-Crag is the signature event of Access Fund, a nonprofit group representing 1.6 million rock climbers and mountaineers nationwide.
During September, work is expected at more than 100 climbing areas nationwide, the release said.
