Donated backpacks will be distributed
The Coeur d’Alene Tribe and Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel, along with the Salvation Army, Walmart and KREM 2 News, are donating 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene.
The backpacks will be filled today by volunteers, a news release from the casino said. They will be given out on Tuesday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Spokane and at the Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene on a first-come, first-served basis, said Bob Bostwick, a casino spokesman.
The tribe also donated $20,000 worth of school supplies to children in the Plummer-Worley School District and at the tribal school in DeSmet.
