On-time start for Spokane schools; Mead schools to close

Spokane Public Schools will start on time Friday, officials said. However, buses for elementary school students will be one hour late, and buses for middle school students will be 30 minutes late. Parents are encouraged to stay tuned for possible changing conditions. Also, the Mead School District has announced that all schools will be closed for the day, and all after-school activities canceled.
