President’s security nonpartisan

I am a conservative who most definitely did not vote for Barack Obama. That said, I must respond to Marlene Brazington’s recent comment (Letters, Nov. 24) concerning the president’s use of “an eight-ton gas-inhaling Caddy limo” on his recent overseas visit.

Our president is a world leader, and as such, should and must take periodic trips abroad. During those trips, if it takes a fleet of “gas-inhaling” vehicles, the reserving of entire hotels and a small army of Secret Service people to ensure the safety of him and his family, I say so be it. I want the very best protection that technology, money and human ingenuity can provide for my president.
