Supernatural beings clash in ‘Eclipse’

Philadelphia Inquirer

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” (available Saturday): Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are back in the third installment of the supernatural sexual abstinence series, pitting hot-blooded werewolves against cold-blooded vampires with mopey-blooded Bella Swan in between. It’s a teen angst love triangle of epic proportions, but it’s also the least exciting, least fun of the “Twilights” thus far. (2:04; PG-13 for violence and sensuality) • • ½

“Knight and Day”: Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are an accidental couple on the run from spies and thugs in this slick but jaunty action thriller/romantic comedy. Not going to change the world, but not bad. (1:50; PG-13 for violence and language) • • •

“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”: A hearty helping of movie comfort food starring Nicolas Cage as a 1,400-year-old wizard and Jay Baruchel as the contemporary incarnation of Merlin. Diverting if generic. (1:51; PG for violence, rude humor and language)

“Going the Distance”: Affable comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long as a long- distance (Chicago-L.A.) couple with chemistry and physics, but not much history or geography. Co-starring Jason Sudeikis and Christina Applegate. (1:37; R for sexual content including dialogue, language, drug use and brief nudity) • • 1/2

“Vampires Suck”: Gags fly fast (and flat) in this spoof of the “Twilight” movie series. (1:20; PG-13 for crude sexual content, comic violence, language and teen partying)
