A few Valley churches are hosting special events this week to help people get into the Christmas spirit. Music is on the menu at two of the churches.

Opportunity Presbyterian Church will have its all-church caroling Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating should meet at the church at 202 N. Pines Road at 1:15 p.m. for cookies and hot chocolate before embarking on a neighborhood singing tour.

• The Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene will host a Christmas concert by David Harsh from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, 15515 E. 20th. Harsh is an award-winning Christian songwriter and guitarist from the Northwest. The concert is free and all are welcome. Donations will be accepted.

Harsh will also perform during the 11 a.m. worship service at the church on Sunday.

• Those who have wondered about the history behind Nativity scenes are invited to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection at 9 a.m. Sunday for a showing of the video “Nativity: The Art and Spirit of the Creche.” The church is at 15319 E. Eighth Ave.
