Barone’s 18 points pace Vandals

MOSCOW, Idaho – Kyle Barone had 18 points and seven rebounds to help Idaho beat Eastern Michigan 75-60 in the Basketball Travelers Classic on Sunday night.

Jeff Ledbetter made four 3-pointers for 12 points as Idaho (5-3) won all three of its games in the tournament. Shawn Henderson added 11 points, five assists and seven rebounds for the Vandals.

Brandon Bowdry scored 17 points to lead Eastern Michigan (1-6), which was 0-3 in the event. Derek Thompson had 15 points on five 3-pointers.

Idaho made 52 percent of its shots compared to 46.7 for Eastern Michigan.

Idaho’s Deremy Geiger was held to six points Sunday but was voted tournament MVP. He was the second-leading scorer in the event, trailing Bowdry.
