SPOKANE VALLEY – Hearth Homes will hold its annual holiday fundraiser, “Rest in the Craziness” on Tuesday at CenterPlace, 2426 N. Discovery Place, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The event will offer participants an opportunity to take a rest from the craziness of the holiday season and listen to music, enjoy a dessert and learn about Hearth Homes’ program, where their mission is “to serve women and children by meeting their spiritual, emotional and physical needs of safe housing and other necessary related services,” according to the website.

Music will be provided by children, teenagers and adults, featuring the newest viola player with the Spokane Symphony. Gift baskets provided by local businesses will be raffled off during the evening. Proceeds will benefit Hearth Homes. Donations also will be accepted.

Santa to ride with District 8 firefighters

SPOKANE – Santa Claus will visit local neighborhoods, traveling by fire truck with the firefighters from Spokane County Fire District 8 on the following dates leading up to Christmas.

On Monday, Santa will be in the Ponderosa Area, south of 44th Avenue, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., he’ll be in the Painted Hills and Bella Vista communities. Santa and the firefighters will also be in the Albertsons parking lot at 32nd and Highway 27. Wednesday, Santa will visit the Saltese and Morningside communities, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Next Thursday, Santa will stop by Moran Prairie, east of Regal Street and south of 57th Avenue, as well as the Hangman Valley area, from 5 to 8 p.m.

On Dec. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., Santa will visit Moran Prairie, west of Regal, north of 57th. On Dec. 18, he’ll visit the Moran Prairie, west of Regal south of 57th, from 5 to 8 p.m. And, on Dec. 19, Santa will visit Moran Prairie, east of Regal and north of 57th, as well as the Hangman Valley area, from 5 to 8 p.m.
