Centralized power saddens

The year ends on a sad note, and it is even sadder for me who grew up in a socialist soft dictatorship. To me it’s déjà  vu all over again in some ways.

I see the political power in the hands of a few with no substantial input accepted from the citizens – neither concerning their own future nor their disapproval of the system of kleptocracy. Power is maintained by the secrecy of a government which can declare citizens the enemy of the state and assassinate them. The corporate media broadcast false information to misguide voters and turn them against themselves and each other. Meanwhile white-collar criminals are rewarded, not jailed.

This damage cannot be offset by the responsible Americans living up to the ideals of this country – those who work hard to succeed, who are inventive, volunteer and give to the needy.

Thus there must be a rejection of the notion that true capitalism is the corporate control of citizenry and a shift from a war-based to a Keynesian economy. Businesses must accept failure instead of handouts and must be part of a sustainable economy instead of cronyism. This is the only way to ensure the survival of America.
