Alyssa Morris scored 22 points to lead UC Riverside (5-2) past Washington 59-54 in a nonconference women’s basketball game on Sunday in Seattle.

Kristi Kingma had 11 of her 16 points in the second half to lead Washington (4-3), which saw its three-game winning streak snapped.

Junior hockey

Ryan Hadley-Schaal scored twice and had an assist and Garrett Barr made 26 saves as the Spokane Braves beat the Beaver Valley Nitehawks 3-1 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League play at Eagles Ice-A-Rena. Guisseppe Dippolito also scored for Spokane (16-16-0-1), and Rance Hughes had two assists.

Men’s basketball

Community Colleges in Spokane had to leave the Bates Invitational in Eugene, Ore., after Saturday’s semifinal loss to NW Elite and therefore did not play Sunday.
