Colville prevails despite Wellpinit effort in second
It was a tale of two halves – Colville won the first, Wellpinit the second – but the end result was a 53-47 nonleague boys win for Colville at Wellpinit on Monday night.
Matt Hubbard (16 points), Miguel Anaya (14) and Zach Hull (13) combined for 43 points for the Indians (2-1), who opened a 25-17 halftime lead. Drake Wynne had 15 points and Kenndy Seyler 14 for the Redskins (3-1), who had a 30-28 edge after intermission but couldn’t avoid suffering their first loss.
In another nonleague game, Warren Joiner had 21 points and eight rebounds, Jake Mercer 15 points and Zach Lehman 13 points and seven steals as St. Maries (5-1) defeated the visiting Lake City junior varsity 60-36.
