I-90 moving again after light pole crash at Thor

Westbound lanes of Interstate 90 were backed up this morning after a series of accidents, including one in which a motorist knocked over a light pole alongside the freeway. All lanes were reopened at 8 a.m. after the accident occurred at 7:15 a.m. The accident also led to a slowdown on the eastbound lanes at the Thor and Freya exit. Washington State Patrol said workers were trying to unclog stubborn drains in the area when the accidents occurred. After the light pole came down, other drivers struck the pole. Emergency workers quickly responded to the scene of the accident just west of the Thor Street overpass on the right-hand shoulder. Vehicles were moving through the area, but the slowdown caused a back up from the morning rush. Lines of slow-moving vehicles were visible on traffic cameras nearly to Argonne Road. During the slowdown, another accident occurred in the middle westbound lane involving cars caught in the slowdown on I-90 at the Park Road overpass. WSP said one other accident occurred to the west of the light pole incident.
