One dead, one injured in I-90 wreck

One person was killed and another is in critical condition after a two-car crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 today about 3:45 p.m. west of Post Falls. Idaho State Police said Donald Graham, 77, of Rathdrum, was driving a yellow Chevy Equinox westbound on the freeway near milepost 3 when he was rear-ended by a Kia Optima, driven by Lisa Calbick, 33, of Coeur d’Alene. Graham lost control of the vehicle, which rolled off the right shoulder and landed on its top. Graham was pronounced dead at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, police said. Calbick’s vehicle came to a rest in the median. She was taken to Kootenai was in critical condition Wednesday night, police said. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and police said neither weather nor alcohol were factors, they said. Initial reports from the scene indicated there was a passenger in the Chevy who was critically injured, but the news release made no mention of a passenger. A dispatcher was unable to confirm if a third person was involved.
