Unfred hits 40 in Freeman win

Cody Unfred hit 15 of his 29 shots, including 3 of 6 from beyond the 3-point line, and finished with a game-high 40 points and eight rebounds to lead Freeman (3-4) to an 84-77 nonleague, overtime victory over visiting Deer Park (3-2).

Uconn Peone led the Stags with 31 points and hit a shot with 3 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Mitch Vander Linden added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Scotties.

Post Falls 64, Lakeland 30: Marcus Colbert scored 15 points, Connor Hill added 14 points and the Trojans (5-0) rolled to a win over the Hawks (0-5) in the Battle for the Prairie Pig rivalry game in Post Falls. Kyle English chipped in 12 points and four steals for the Trojans.

Medical Lake 58, Colville 54: Kevin Fisher scored eight of his 16 points in the final 1:30 of the fourth quarter to lift the visiting Cardinals (4-1) to a victory over the Indians (2-2).

Fisher’s 3-pointer with 38 seconds remaining gave ML the lead for good. Kendyl Dunn added 15 points for the Cardinals, while Miguel Anaya led the Indians with 19 points.

Moscow 44, Bonners Ferry 28: Roby Jung scored a team-high 12 points and the visiting Bears (3-4) pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Badgers (1-3) 15-8 in the final frame. Mat Evans had a game-high 13 points and three steals for the Badgers.

Lakeside (WA) 52, Colfax 46: Ryan Gunderson scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half and added 15 rebounds to help the visiting Eagles (4-2) erase a 13-point halftime deficit in their win over the Bulldogs (1-1).

Justin Berarducci had 14 to lead the Bulldogs, who shot 5 of 33 in the second half, including 1 of 15 from 3-point range.

Northport 73, Republic 60: Michal Marko finished with a game-high 25 points and added nine rebounds and three steals, and Phillip Johnson scored seven of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to help the Mustangs (4-1) pull away from the visiting Tigers (2-5).

The Tigers hit eight 3-pointers but were held to just 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 62, Okanogan 48: Derek Isaak had 25 points and eight assists, Thunder Wellhausen added 12 points and 11 assists and the visiting Warriors (5-0) outscored the Bulldogs (3-2) 38-24 in the second half to earn the victory.

Odessa-Harrington 65, Columbia 43: Justin Hunt scored a game-high 16 points and the Titans (2-4) held the host Lions (1-5) to just five points in the first quarter, building a 37-16 lead at halftime in Hunters. Dominick Marquez scored 13 points to lead the Lions.

Raider Holiday Classic

Wellpinit 81, Soap Lake 43: Kennedy Seyler scored 12 of his 23 points in the first quarter and went 9 of 12 from the floor to lead the Redskins (5-1) to a win over the Eagles in the first round of the Raider Holiday Classic in Coulee Dam. Greg Wynecoop and A.J. Kieffer added 25 points and 20 rebounds for the Redskins.

Lake Roosevelt 72, Omak 41: Ty Egbert tallied a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds and the Raiders (2-1) beat the Pioneers (3-4). The Raiders will play Wellpinit in the championship game today.

Newport Holiday Tourney

Priest River 70, Riverside 45: Max Salesky hit 4 of 9 from 3-point range, scoring 28 points and adding four rebounds, and the Spartans (2-1) used a 24-6 edge in the third quarter to pull away from the Rams (2-3). Eric Holbrook tallied 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for PR.

Newport 70, Cusick 51: Jake Wiley finished with 26 points and went 12 of 15 from the field to lead the Grizzlies (4-3) to a victory over the Panthers (1-1). Tyler Edwards scored 24 points for Cusick, but the Panthers couldn’t overcome a 12-point deficit after the first quarter.

Newport plays Priest River today in the championship game.

North Star League

Lakeside 79, Clark Fork 50: Jamie Flemming led all scorers with 24 points and Nate Weselhead had 15 points and nine rebounds as the host Knights (4-2, 2-0) knocked off the Wampus Cats (1-2, 0-1) in Plummer.

Mullan 56, Wallace 41: The Tigers (1-7, 1-2) earned their first win of the season, beating the visiting Miners (2-3, 0-1).

Bi-County 2B League

Northwest Christian 73, Davenport 31: Kwinn Hanson had 20 points and nine rebounds, Cole Ramey added 15 points, four steals and four assists and the host Crusaders (4-0, 1-0) opened an 18-point lead at halftime en route to beating the Gorillas (2-1, 1-1) in Colbert.

Reardan 68, Springdale 67: Trevor Peone’s 26 points led all scorers and the visiting Indians (3-2) held on despite a 24-15 run by the Chargers (3-2) in the fourth quarter. Rodney Abrahamson scored 24 points to lead the Chargers.

St. George’s 60, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 56: Dexter Sienko tallied 18 points and nine rebounds and the Dragons (2-2, 1-0) held on to win, despite getting outscored 35-26 in the second half by the host Broncos (3-3, 0-2). Traven Smith led the Broncos with 12 points.

Liberty 54, Kettle Falls 15: Dylan Salsbury had 14 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double and the host Lancers (1-3, 1-1) forced 26 turnovers to beat the Bulldogs (1-5, 0-2) in Spangle.

LaCrosse-Washtucna 60, Pomeroy 54: Jeff Zimmer scored eight of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and the visiting Tigercats (4-2, 2-1) outlasted the Pirates (0-5, 0-3). Mack Wolf had 14 points to lead the Pirates.

Garfield-Palouse 54, St. John-Endicott 45: Nathan Cocking scored 21 points and added seven rebounds, Race Martin had 12 of his 15 points in the second half to go with nine boards and the Vikings (3-3, 1-2) used 36 points in the paint to knock off the visiting Eagles (2-3, 1-2).

Rosalia 85, Tekoa-Oakesdale 57: Scott Eberle had 19 points and Nathan Richards added 16 as the Spartans (5-1, 3-0) shot 68 percent from the floor in their victory over the host Nighthawks (1-5, 1-2).

Colton 61, Touchet 56: The Wildcats (3-3, 3-0) had four players finish in double figures, led by 17 points from Josh Straughan, as they beat the visiting Indians (3-2, 1-2).
