Luck has nothing to do with it
I am very thankful for several things this Christmas. My family is healthy, work is still secure and friendships are flourishing. The most, by far, is what the tea party, and we civilians, accomplished on Nov. 2. No to socialism, no to communism and, most of all, no more of Nancy Pelosi’s mug as speaker of the House in 2011.
The work has just begun, and Obama and Reid, you are next. A recent letter by Leonard Butters (Dec. 11) pertaining to how luck is all that leads to success and bootstrap success is rare. My parents emigrated from Germany. No English, no benefit and somehow, without the help of glorious liberal god Big Government, managed to build a business that you would like to extract taxes from to redistribute to your ilk.
Leonard, you are right with one thing: I was lucky to be born to parents that adhered to the teaching of hard work, self-reliance, as opposed to your thinking of waiting for those that are achieving to support yourself and your offspring. Not one more dime from me, Leonard.
