United Way reports boost in giving

Spokane County United Way said its annual campaign raised $4.8 million this year, a 2 percent increase over last year’s total. It’s the third consecutive year United Way has increased the annual campaign total in Spokane, the nonprofit organization said in a news release last week. Sterling Savings had the largest dollar increase in the campaign, the release said, and more than 150 companies increased their giving by more than 6 percent.
