Some Sunday schedules changed

By The Spokesman-Review

Today is Christmas, but most churches held services to mark the day of Jesus’ birth yesterday to allow members to spend today with their families. A few Valley churches will be following different schedules on Sunday, as is traditional for some on the first Sunday after Christmas.

• The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will have a Christmas Mass today at 9 a.m. The service will be followed by a brunch.

On Sunday the church will host a combined Lessons and Carols service at 9 a.m. There will not be any Sunday school classes. The church is at 15319 E. Eighth Ave.

• The congregations of Good Shepherd Lutheran, Christ Lutheran and Holy Trinity Lutheran churches will meet for a joint Lessons and Carols service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Christ Lutheran, 13009 E. Broadway. The combined choirs will perform the cantata “A Thrill of Hope.”

• Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye, will have a combined worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
