Principle, not pragmatism
“Rights” and “lefts” bicker like angry squirrels in upper branches, citing specific exceptions why the other’s views are wrong. We both forget the trunk – core beliefs producing those upper branches. Listen:
Freedom is more important than subjectively defined equality. Got a bur in your skin already? Don’t race to the branches looking for exceptions to the concept.
Our Constitution guarantees equality before the law you shouldn’t lose a civil or criminal case because you’re poor, minority or woman. That’s all you get, by Constitutional principle. What about exceptions? Always subjective – mustn’t be resolved by statutory law which can’t be nationally pertinent. The answer is not federal entitlements or programs paid by others. Let people solve local problems. Why? Local law gives people the greatest opportunity to change how it affects their lives (“democracy”). Federal law shouldn’t touch individuals. That’s principle.
“But locals can’t handle suffering people.” Because too much money goes to D.C.!
People afraid of death, suffering (which are unstoppable, even to freedom lovers), get a temporary placebo from the Left, paid by others.
Liberals, explain the superiority of your subjective pragmatism. Cite believable authority, not your opinion.
