OUTLOOK: The Pilots (14-7, 5-2) have won four straight, by margins of 40, 16, 16 and 22, since falling to Saint Mary’s 77-72 in Moraga, Calif. Gonzaga went 3-1 against the same four teams with wins by seven, 16 and seven. Portland has held its last four opponents to 34.8 percent shooting. The Pilots lead the WCC in scoring defense (yielding 60.7 points in WCC games). GU led nearly the entire way in the first meeting Jan. 9 before weathering a late Pilots rally. Matt Bouldin scored 20 points, Elias Harris 18, and Kelly Olynyk and Bol Kong combined for 25 points off the bench. Robin Smeulders’ 24 points paced Portland.
