Wellpinit, Cusick will play for title

Kennedy Seyler poured in a game-high 25 points, Cody Flett scored 24 and they both pulled down nine rebounds to power the top-seeded Wellpinit Redskins (18-2) to a 90-42 victory over the Northport Mustangs (7-12) in the Panorama League 1B boys basketball tournament on Wednesday night in Wellpinit.

Adrian Konkler topped Northport with 11 points, while Matt Owings scored 10.

The victory sends the regular-season champion Redskins into the tournament title game against Cusick on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Kettle Falls Middle School. The winner of the game will head to the district tournament as the No. 1 seed, while the loser will be seeded second at district.

Northport will take on Inchelium on Saturday at noon at Kettle Falls Middle School for the third and fourth district seeds.

Columbia and St. Michael’s will square off on Saturday at Kettle Falls High School at noon in a loser-out, winner-fifth-seed-to-district game.

Cusick 70, Inchelium 45: Tyler Edwards tossed in a game-high 24 points and Spencer Shanholtzer and Louie Bluff each scored 12 to lead the Panthers (16-5) past the Hornets (14-6) in Inchelium.

Brandon Kohler paced the Hornets with 16 points, while Chad Rosenbaum had nine points, 11 rebounds and four steals.

Lakeside (Plummer) 58, Clark Fork 32: Nate Weaselhead tallied a game-high 17 points and the Knights (7-8, 2-2) recovered from a three-point first-quarter deficit to bury the winless Wampus Cats (0-15, 0-6) in North Star League action in Clark Fork.

Stillman Berkley led the CF with nine points.

Girls

Blake Jacobs ripped the nets for 29 points and the Kamiah Kubs rolled to a 59-38 win to eliminate Coeur d’Alene Charter in Idaho District 2A I-II tourney play in Genesee.
