Q. How will owners be notified?

A. By mail. Toyota is mailing recall notices to customers starting this weekend; expect delivery starting next week.

Q. How long does it take to fix the accelerator problem?

A. Roughly 30 to 45 minutes. Some vehicles could take longer if a floor mat needs to be replaced as well. The fix will cost the driver nothing.

Q. Until it’s fixed, should I drive my car if it’s included in the recall?

A. Toyota officials suggest drivers continue driving their cars or trucks if they haven’t experienced a problem. But owners should bring in their vehicles at their earliest convenience.
