In brief: Discount on Dutch Bros. drinks with canned food donation Sunday

Dutch Bros will celebrate “Dutch ‘Luv’ Day” on Valentine’s Day.

Customers will receive any 16-ounce drink for $1 Sunday with the donation of three cans of food. The canned goods will be donated to Second Harvest Inland Northwest and the Community Action Partnership.

All Dutch Bros. locations in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene are participating in the canned goods drive. Spokane stores are at: 402 W. Second Ave., 1010 W. Francis St., and 1306 N. Division St. In Coeur d’Alene, Dutch Bros. is at 118 W. Hanley Ave. and 1680 Northwest Boulevard.

Suggested donations include canned vegetables, fruits and meats; canned or boxed meals; canned or dried beans and peas; pasta, rice or cereal; peanut butter; 100-percent fruit juice, cooking oil, flour and oats.

Ferrante’s Marketplace to host SpokAnimal fundraiser Sunday

Ferrante’s Marketplace will host a special dinner on Valentine’s Day to help raise money for SpokAnimal CARE.

Ferrante’s, 4516 S. Regal St., will offer a four-course dinner with dishes that are not normally on the menu at the Italian cafe. Tickets are $47.50 per person. There will be three reserved seating times – 4, 6 and 8 p.m. Owner Tony Ferrante created the special menu which includes stuffed mushroom caps, risotto romanesco, chicken parmesan cutlets and tiramisu. Tickets can be purchased at Ferrante’s; SpokAnimal CARE, 710 N. Napa St., or Prairie Dog Mercantile, 2917 E. Palouse Highway. Pet themed gift baskets will be raffled at the end of the evening.

Money raised will benefit SpokAnimal CARE programs such as the Lucky to Be Alive fund, which is used to help needy animals with emergency medical treatment. SpokAnimal provides animal control for the city of Spokane.

Center Pointe benefit celebrates Spanish food, wines Feb. 20

Center Pointe, 1408 N. Washington St., is hosting “An Evening with the Winemaker” on Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

The event will feature wine commentary by John Allen from Vino! The Spanish meal will include tapas, paella, flan and different Spanish wines with each course.
