30 officers searching for Wenatchee-area girl

Associated Press

WENATCHEE — A half-dozen FBI agents and dozens of officers from other agencies have brought the total number of police looking for a missing 17-year-old girl in Chelan County to about 30.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jerry Moore says they are out Friday reinterviewing witnesses and following up on tips in the disappearance of Mackenzie Cowell.

She was last seen Tuesday afternoon leaving a beauty school class in Wenatchee. Her car was found that night near Mission Ridge, about 40 miles from her home in Orondo. Her purse and some clothes were found in the car, but her debit card is missing.

The FBI, Washington State Patrol, state Fish and Wildlife Department, Chelan and Douglas County deputies and Wenatchee police are all working on the case.
