Returned Guard Allen Iverson has returned to the Philadelphia 76ers after missing five games to be with his ill daughter and expects to play tonight against Miami. Iverson returned to practice Monday for the first time since Feb. 2. Iverson was voted an Eastern Conference All-Star starter, but skipped Sunday’s game to spend additional time with his family. Iverson has averaged 14.4 points in 25 games since he returned to the Sixers in December.

Increased Nebraska has added a year to the contract of football coach Bo Pelini and raised his base pay to $2.1 million per year. The deal keeps Pelini at the Huskers’ helm through Feb. 28, 2015. The contract contains a retention bonus of $500,000 if he’s still head coach on Jan. 31, 2015. Pelini’s brother, defensive coordinator Carl Pelini, and offensive coordinator Shawn Watson also received salary increases.

Died Former Arizona State coach Bill Kajikawa, who coached three sports over a 41-year career, has died. He was 97. Kajikawa was head coach of Arizona State’s baseball team from 1947-57, basketball team from 1948-57 and began coaching the school’s freshman football team in 1937. During his tenure, Kajikawa saw the Bulldogs become Sun Devils and his alma mater gain university status.

Born NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler has won the race to the delivery room. Sadler’s wife gave birth to a baby boy, a day after his 24th-place finish in the Daytona 500. Four other drivers have announced their wives are pregnant and due this season, including Carl Edwards, who hoped all weekend his wife would make it to her Wednesday due date. Also expecting babies are four-time series champions Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, as well as Juan Pablo Montoya.
