Beach’s hat trick leads Chiefs

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Kyle Beach scored three times for Spokane as the Chiefs pounded the Kamloops Blazers 7-0 on Wednesday night.

Beach, who also had an assist, leads the WHL with a career-high 45 goals this season.

Mitch Wahl, with two, Jared Cowen and Levko Koper also scored for the Chiefs (36-20-4).

The Blazers are 27-29-6.

Spokane goaltender James Reid stopped 26 shots to earn his fourth shutout of the season. The Kamloops duo of Kurtis Mucha and Jon Groenheyde combined for 38 saves.
