All Saints School plans open house

All Saints Catholic School is offering information nights for parents of children in preschool through fourth grade. Parents will be able to meet with teachers, ask questions and tour the facilities during two sessions.

Parents of children ages 3 through 5 are invited to attend Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the preschool, 1505 E. 34th Ave. The classes for 3-year-olds are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays. The classes for 4- and 5-year-olds will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or Mondays through Fridays.

Parents of children in kindergarten through the fourth grade will have an information night March 4 at 7 p.m. on All Saints’ primary campus, 3510 E. 18th Ave.

Baby-sitting will be available for both sessions.

Discussions, classes

The Center for Spiritual Living, 2825 E. 33rd Ave., will present the movie, “Compassion in Exile, the Documentary,” Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Part of the center’s “Season for Nonviolence,” the movie will discuss the story of the 14th Dalai Lama.

The center will also offer a discussion group, “Peace is the Way,” starting Saturday, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The discussion group is based on the book of the same name by Deepak Chopra and will be facilitated by Rev. Toni Niemiec.

Volunteer opportunities

Catholic Charities will offer a Volunteer Information Coffee Tuesday from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the Catholic Charities Family Service Center, 12 E. Fifth Ave.

The session will discuss volunteer opportunities in the many charities of the organization and will include snacks and tours of the facility.

Christian singles

The next meeting of the Christian Singles Fellowship will be Saturday at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of North Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison St.

This month’s topic will be “Flowers and Bees and Intertwined Roots: The Importance of Community in Faith,” and will be led by Alan Basham.
