Teleprompter use noted

The Spokesman-Review

James Dodd (Letters, Feb. 14) says that Sarah Palin’s message failed because she had to write some notes on her hand. Mr. Dodd must have a really terrible opinion of President Obama, who reads every word of his speeches from the teleprompter. That is every word of his 90-minute State of the Union speech, every word of his talk to some school kids and, in fact, every word of every speech he makes.

For those who don’t know, the teleprompters are those two little glass squares that you see at each side of where he is standing. His talks are projected onto those so he can read them.

Palin had a few brief notes on her hand. She did not need to read every word she was saying. If Mr. Dodd is an observant person, he will have by now recognized that almost every public speaker uses notes.
