Trojans, LC win in Idaho
Post Falls and Lake City will play for a berth in the Idaho 5A boys state tournament at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Post Falls after cruising to wins Friday night.
The Trojans beat visiting Lewiston 76-50 with solid defense and balanced scoring, while Lake City won 61-49 at Coeur d’Alene with solid free-throw shooting.
Lewiston is at CdA Tuesday at 7 in a loser-out game.
Post Falls 76, Lewiston 50: The Trojans (18-3) got 21 points and 10 rebounds from Shawn Reid and 15 points each from Malcolm and Marcus Colbert. Justin Podrabsky led Lewiston (10-10) with 16 points.
Lake City 61, Coeur d’Alene 49: The Timberwolves (12-9) hit 23 of 28 free throws, 17 of 21 in the fourth quarter, to overcome a 19-17 CdA advantage from the field. Deon Watson scored 20 for CdA (14-7).

Freeman 48, Lakeside 33: The Scotties (18-4), led by Taylor Vold’s 20 points, clinched the No. 1 berth to regionals. The Eagles (9-13) shot only 23 percent from the floor. Ryan Gunderson scored 16 for Lakeside.
Lakeside plays Chewelah at 4 p.m. today at Mead for 2-3 seeding to regionals.
Chewelah 65, Newport 44: Guard Carson Stroyan scored 10 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Cougars (14-8) secured a berth in the regional tournament. Stroyan hit 6 of 9 3-point attempts. Chaize Exkano and Clint Hunt had 11 points each for Newport (8-15).

Lake Roosevelt 45, Cascade 25: The Raiders (15-6) overcame some spotty shooting – just 31 percent – with strong defense that limited the Kodiaks (13-9) to 20-percent shooting and dominating rebounding to earn a spot in the regional tournament. Cade Egbert had 17 points, 18 rebounds and six blocked shots to lead the way..
Lake Roosevelt plays Chelan (20-1), an 83-57 winner over Cashmere, tonight at 7:30 at Omak for 1-2 seeding to regional. Cascade plays Cashmere (13-9) at 4:30 for No. 3.

Colfax 52, Northwest Christian 32: A 58-30 rebounding advantage, led by Kayleigh Maltone’s 12, sparked the Bulldogs (21-3) past the Crusaders (13-12) at Mt. Spokane in the semifinals. Kayla Johnson’s 13 points led the offense. Danne Dami had 14 for NWC.
Colfax plays Reardan at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Spokane for the district’s first berth in the state tournament. NWC faces St. George’s today at 4:30 p.m. at Mt. Spokane, loser out.
Reardan 61, Lind-Ritzville 37: Kelsey Moos had 26 points, nine rebounds and five steals and the Indians (20-4) hit 13 of 19 free throws en route to advancing to the district title game.
The Broncos (14-11) play Liberty at 7:30 tonight at Mt. Spokane in a loser-out game.
St. George’s 50, Springdale 37: Chessey Thomas padded her point total for the Dragons (21-3) down the stretch with free throws, finishing with a game-high 21 points, as the Chargers (18-6) reverted to fouling to try overcome a five-point deficit. Shelbea Rainbolt had 13 points and Haley Goad 14 rebounds for Springdale.
Liberty 47, Republic 27: A dominating first half helped the Lancers oust the Tigers. Katra Browning had 11 points and Kelly Hennessey 10 for Liberty (13-11). Republic (16-7) shot just 22 percent and had no one score more than six points.

Alyssa Maine led the offense with 12 points. MacKenzie Taylor had five rebounds and three assists. Leslie Stillar scored 15 for the Eagles (19-3).
Lakeside plays Newport at 5:30 p.m. today at Mead for 2-3 seeding to district.
Newport 46, Kettle Falls 25: Sierra Pancho had 13 points and Hayley Odell 13 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies (12-11) to victory in the loser-out game and secure a spot in the regional tournament.
Samantha Charlton led KF (12-11) with 11 points.
