Boys State B: ACH 69, Neah Bay 40
YAKIMA — Cody Jess scored a game-high 24 points, and Almira/Coulee-Hartline raced past fifth-ranked Neah Bay for a 69-40 first-round victory in the Class 1B boys state tournament Wednesday.
Jess poured in 18 points in the first half as the Warriors (17-8) built a 44-28 halftime lead and were never threatened in the second half.
Derek Isaak added 16 points and Kody Dillion 14 for ACH.
ACH’s defense helped pressure Neah Bay (18-6) into 10 turnovers that the Warriors converted into 16 points.
Robert Moss led the Red Devils with 20 points and nine rebounds.
