Behind Olympic scenes

With four nights to go, Olympics coverage dominates the dial.

But while viewers have been gazing at Vancouver, the Thursday-night schedule has undergone some renovations.

The first season of “The Deep End” (8 p.m., ABC, TV-14) concludes tonight with a big to-do about a charity function. Look for a repeat of “Grey’s Anatomy” in this slot next week; “Fast Forward” returns later in March.

Fox finally pulled the plug on “Past Life” and will air an extra helping of “Kitchen Nightmares” (9 p.m., TV-14) in its place. Tonight, chef Gordon Ramsay tries to breathe life into a change-resistant Italian restaurant in California.

Of greater import for Fox, “American Idol” (8 p.m., TV-PG) barges into the Thursday-night schedule to announce eliminations and survivors.

The Thursday-night tweaking continues next week, when NBC moves its highly promoted series “The Marriage Ref” into the ill-fated Jay Leno slot at 10 p.m.

Other highlights

Pint-sized models prove challenging on “Project Runway” (10 p.m., Lifetime, TV-14).

Fiona has her hands full on “Burn Notice” (10 p.m., USA).
