Girls State B: ACH 59, Sunnyside Christian 57
YAKIMA, — Madeline Isaak scored with 1:05 left and third-ranked Almira/Coulee-Hartline held off No. 5 Sunnyside Christian 59-57 on Thursday in the Class 1B girls state quarterfinals.
SC (19-5) missed a pair of 3-point attempts in the final 35 seconds as ACH held on.
Isaak finished with a game-high 26 points and 9-of-17 shooting. She made 4 of 7 3-point tries. Nikki Osborne added 14 points and Sarah Gloyn 10 for the Warriors (22-3).
Osborne pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds as ACH outrebounded SC 41-37.
Neither team led by more than seven points in the back-and-forth affair that featured 14 lead changes and four ties.
Julie Long led the Knights with 17 points and Kelly Newhouse added 16 and a team-high nine rebounds.
