Idaho Vandals

RECORD: 13-14, 4-9 WAC

COMING UP: Saturday at Louisiana Tech, 6 p.m. PST

OUTLOOK: Idaho’s most rigorous conference road trip of the season culminates against the third-place Bulldogs, who are 4-4 since bolting to the top of the WAC. Louisiana Tech (21-6, 8-4) escaped Moscow with a six-point win in early January, part of the Vandals’ six-game losing streak. Guard/wing Kyle Gibson has haunted Idaho the past two years with huge scoring efforts, including 28 points to sink the Vandals in the season’s first matchup. UI coach Don Verlin wants his team to become more inside-oriented. Marvin Jefferson and Luiz Toledo combined to shoot 12 of 15 from the field against Long Beach while Idaho’s guards went 12 for 44.
