Women’s College Basketball: Shekinna Stricklen had the second triple-double in Tennessee history, finishing with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists and in the fourth-ranked Lady Volunteers’ 96-75 victory over No. 14 Oklahoma on Sunday night at Knoxville, Tenn.

University grad Angie Bjorklund led Tennessee with 25 points, hitting 5 of 8 3-point attempts.

Stricklen completed the triple-double with her 10th rebound with 8:58 left.

Parsons’ 75-footer beats Wolfpack

Men’s College Basketball: Chandler Parsons’ 75-footer at the overtime buzzer lifted Florida past North Carolina State 62-61 at Raleigh, N.C.

Florida appeared headed for a loss after Farnold Degand’s free throw with 2.6 seconds put N.C. State (10-4) up 61-59.

But Degand missed his second free throw. Parsons grabbed the rebound, took two dribbles and uncorked a shot from roughly three-quarter court that swished through.

Michigan knocks off rival Buckeyes: DeShawn Sims scored 28 points and Manny Harris added 24 to lead Michigan to a 73-64 win over No. 15 Ohio State at Ann Arbor, Mich.

Sims’ layup with six minutes to play sparked an 11-0 run that gave the Wolverines (7-6, 1-1 Big Ten) the lead for good. He and Harris scored all 11 points during the spurt.

Michigan beat Ohio State (10-4, 0-2) for the second time in 11 meetings.

Cavs’ winning streak snapped at seven

NBA: Ronald Murray hit a 3-pointer with 56 seconds left to put Charlotte up for good, and the Bobcats surprised the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 91-88 victory at Cleveland.

The loss snapped the Cavaliers’ seven-game win streak and an 11-game winning streak at home.

Murray’s basket from the top of the key broke an 83-all tie, sparking the Bobcats to their second impressive road win in as many days.

Knicks nearly post biggest win, top Pacers: Wilson Chandler scored 23 points, David Lee added 22 points and 16 rebounds, and the New York Knicks routed the Indiana Pacers 132-89 at New York.

Danilo Gallinari finished with 20 points and eight rebounds for the Knicks, who led by 48 points – the largest lead in the NBA this season.

The Knicks’ largest victory is by 48 points, done three times.

Maple Leafs lose Grabovski six weeks

NHL: The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without Mikhail Grabovski for six weeks due to a broken wrist.

Grabovski suffered the injury during the first period of Saturday’s 3-1 loss at Calgary. He’s currently tied for fifth in team scoring with 25 points (7 goals, 18 assists) in 42 games.

Dvorak’s hat trick sends Pens to 5th straight loss: Radek Dvorak scored three goals for his third NHL hat trick, and Tomas Vokoun stopped 46 shots as the Florida Panthers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-2 at Sunrise, Fla., sending the Stanley Cup champions to their season-high, fifth straight loss.

Rostislav Olesz, Jordan Leopold and Steven Reinprecht also scored for the Panthers, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit and snapped a three-game losing streak.

Haden leaving Florida early for NFL draft

College football: Florida cornerback Joe Haden is skipping his final year of eligibility and entering the NFL draft.

Haden announced his intentions two days after No. 5 Florida beat fourth-ranked Cincinnati 51-24 in the Sugar Bowl.

The All-American led the Gators with four interceptions this season and was a finalist for the Thorpe Award, given annually to the nation’s top defensive back.

Back from injury, Johnson set for Senior Bowl: USC running back Stafon Johnson, who had his larynx crushed in a weightlifting accident early in the season, has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 30 at Mobile, Ala.

Johnson has not played since he dropped a barbell with 275 pounds on his neck on Sept. 28. He needed seven hours of reconstructive surgery immediately after the accident.

Johnson’s doctors said that he made a speedy recovery from the accident that could have killed him.

Texas WR kicked off team following arrest: Texas receiver Brandon Collins, who was academically ineligible this season, was kicked off the team following his arrest on aggravated robbery charges.

Longhorns coach Mack Brown announced the decision a day after Collins was arrested in the Austin suburb of Pflugerville, where police say Collins is suspected of driving a vehicle involved in an armed robbery.

Collins and two other men were charged with aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Pearce remains in critical condition

Miscellany: American snowboarder Kevin Pearce remains hospitalized in critical condition in Salt Lake City after sustaining a severe brain injury in a training accident.

His spokeswoman, Danielle Burch, said his condition hasn’t changed.

Burch says Pearce was completing a twisting double back flip when he caught his toe-side edge and landed on his head. He was wearing a helmet.

He remains in the intensive care unit at the University of Utah Hospital.

Vonn misses gate and loses overall lead: With her arm in a brace and her hand aching, Lindsey Vonn missed a slalom gate and lost her overall lead in the World Cup standings.

Her mistake came at the 15th gate during the second run at Zagreb, Croatia, and she did not finish a race won by Sandrine Aubert of France.

Vonn will try to regain the overall lead when the women’s World Cup circuit resumes next weekend with two downhills and a super-G in Haus im Ennstal, Austria.

Demtschenko wins luge World Cup race: Albert Demtschenko of Russia broke the track record in both runs to win a luge World Cup event at Koenigssee, Germany, ahead of two-time Olympic champion Armin Zoeggeler of Italy.

Demtschenko finished in 1 minute, 34.176 seconds for the two runs to win his second World Cup event of the season.

Tony Benshoof of White Bear Lake, Minn., was the top American, finishing 13th in 1:35.141.

American Spillane gets 1st Nordic combined victory: Johnny Spillane of the United States earned his first Nordic combined World Cup victory, beating Felix Gottwald of Austria by more than 30 seconds at Oberhof, Germany.

Spillane took the lead right after the start and at one point led the field by 47 seconds.

Gottwald finished 30.8 seconds behind and Bjoern Kircheisen of Germany was third, 39.1 seconds back.

Spain beats U.S. 3-0 at Hopman Cup: Tommy Robredo and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez each won their singles matches before combining in mixed doubles to give Spain a 3-0 win over the United States at the Hopman Cup at Perth, Australia.

Robredo beat John Isner 6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (4) after Martinez Sanchez gave Spain a 1-0 lead by beating Melanie Oudin 6-4, 6-4. Martinez Sanchez and Robredo then beat the American pair 6-4, 7-5 to complete the victory.

Spain and Romania are 1-0 in Group A, while Australia, which lost to Romania 2-1 on Saturday, and the U.S. are 0-1.

The top teams in each group meet in next Saturday’s final.
