Kentucky couple wins Powerball by mistake

Associated Press

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A central Kentucky autoworker said he bought a Powerball lottery ticket worth $128.6 million on Christmas Eve while doing some last-minute shopping.

Rob Anderson said he’s lucky he kept the ticket after it was printed in error at a Georgetown, Ky., gas station.

Anderson and his wife were announced Wednesday as the winners of the Dec. 26 drawing.

Rob Anderson said he had intended to buy some lottery tickets as Christmas presents but was wrongly given a single Powerball ticket with three random sets of numbers. Anderson said he kept the ticket and bought three more $1 tickets to give as gifts. He said the Powerball ticket printed in error turned out to be the winner.
