Girls basketball: Lakeside leaps over Scotties

Lakeside 54, Freeman 47: In a clash of the Northeast A League’s top two teams, Leslie Stillar led with 15 points and eight rebounds as Lakeside (12-1, 3-0) handed Freeman (12-1, 2-1) its first loss of the season, shooting 50 percent from the floor at HUB Sports Center.

Megan McIntyre scored 17 points with seven boards for the Scotties.

Newport 61, Chewelah 45: Miranda Frederick tallied 24 points and the Grizzlies (8-5, 1-1) used nine Chewelah turnovers in the third quarter to outscore the Cougars (1-13, 0-2) 24-7 in that frame to earn the win in Chewelah.

Bi-County

Lind-Ritzville 48, Liberty 41: Emmy Bouwman scored 12 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter to give the Broncos (6-6, 3-3) the lead for good against the visiting Lancers (7-5, 2-4).

Northwest Christian 44, Davenport 33: Bryanna Bailey had 14 points and the Crusaders (5-7, 3-3) started the game with a 17-0 run against the Gorillas (5-7, 1-5) in Davenport.

Reardan 58, Valley Christian 31: Kelsey Moos scored 16 points for the Indians (11-1, 6-0) and with Katie Worley on the bench with foul trouble in the second quarter, the Panthers (6-6, 1-5) fell behind by 16 at the half at Valley Christian.

District 9 1B

Rosalia 38, LaCrosse-Washtucna 34: Katelyn Maley had 13 points, Briann Maley added nine points and seven rebounds and the Spartans (8-6, 3-2) outscored the Tigercats (4-8, 1-4) 10-4 in the third quarter to take the lead for good in Rosalia.

St. George’s 45, St. Michael’s 22: The Dragons (13-1, 8-0) had 11 players contribute points against the Warriors (0-9, 0-7) and outscored them 25-9 in the first half at St. Michael’s.

Republic 55, Northport 39: Chandra Bacon and Tori Orestad combined for 23 points and the Tigers (9-2, 6-1) scored 20 of their 21 field goals via layups to beat the Mustangs in Republic. Shaynne Wilson scored 23 points for the Mustangs in the loss.

Inland Empire

Lake City 68, Post Falls 47: Sydney Butler’s 19 points helped lead the Timberwolves (11-4, 2-2) to an 18-point first-half lead over the Trojans (11-6, 1-2) in Coeur d’Alene.

Non-league

Colton 85, Liberty Christian 40: Kelsey and Haley Moser combined for 39 points and the host Wildcats (10-0) hit 11 3-pointers in the win.

Kettle Falls 71, Inchelium 23: Samantha Charlton scored 13 points to lead three Bulldogs (6-5) in double figures and the Hornets (0-11) were held to just nine first-half points in the first half in Kettle Falls.
