Spokane man whacks toothless burglar with stick

The Spokesman-Review
A West Central Neighborhood man returning home about noon Thursday found a car parked in his driveway that turned out to be stolen. When he entered the home, he confronted a skinny, toothless man rifling through belongings.A struggle ensued with the burglar threatening the man with a Taser before running out of the house in the 2300 block of North Nettleton Street, but not before the homeowner whacked him with a stick. Spokane police said the burglar lost a shoe in the process. Heirloom jewelry was taken, but then found by a patrol officer searching for the skinny, toothless burglar, who wore his shaggy, long brown hair pulled into a ponytail. He was wearing a dark jacket. A county sheriff’s K-9 was unable to track the suspect successfully. Anyone with information about the burglar is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
