Abbott stays the course

Jeremy Abbott left the Spokane Arena on Sunday wearing a gold medal for the second consecutive year. Abbott, the defending men’s titlist in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, brought an Arena crowd to its feet before he finished his free skate, and went on to clinch the title and a spot in next month’s Winter Olympics. He will be joined in Vancouver, B.C., by silver medalist Evan Lysacek and bronze medalist Johnny Weir. Find more coverage in Sports, B1.
