New Faces

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital has hired Dr. Okechukwu Ojogho as surgical and program director of the hospital’s Kidney Transplant Program. Dr. Ojogho previously served as director of Loma Linda University Medical Center’s Transplant Immunology Research Center and as professor of surgery for the center’s Transplantation Institute.

Sasha Jackowich has been hired by Valley Hospital and Medical Center as director of marketing and communications. She previously held the same position while working for St. Rose Dominican Hospitals in Las Vegas. She holds bachelor’s degrees in art history and public policy studies from Duke University.

Northern Lakes Fire District, of Hayden and Rathdrum, has hired Bill Holstein as EMS division chief. He previously worked as operations manager for the county ambulance service in Skagit County and as a fire chief in Sheridan, Ore. He earned his paramedic license from the University of Iowa and holds a bachelor’s degree in public safety administration from Grand Canyon University.

SNAP Financial Access has hired Patrick Bisson as a business development specialist. His position will focus on helping low- to moderate-income individuals in the West Plains, Spokane Valley and Deer Park areas start environmentally sustainable businesses.

John “Mike” Mires has been hired as dean of professional, technical and workforce education for North Idaho College. He previously served as dean of instruction for technical education at Spokane Community College for the past six years and has worked in various other positions for the college since 1983. He holds an associate’s degree from Citrus Community College and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Washington University.

Craig James has been hired as human resources manager for Kootenai Electric Cooperative. He previously worked as human resources manager for Sears Marketing Center in Spokane. He has more than 15 years of related experience, is a certified senior professional in human resources and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marian College.

Appointed

Hospice of Spokane has appointed John Bjorkman as a member of the organization’s board of trustees. Bjorkman works as a certified public accountant for LeMaster Daniels.

Christine Meyer and Julie Meyer have been appointed as members of the Inland Northwest Community Foundation’s North Idaho Partnership Council. Christine Meyer serves as director of education for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and Julie Meyer is co-owner of Pend d’Oreille Winery and president of the Equinox Foundation.
