Fire damaged the front portion of a home in northwest Spokane on Tuesday night, and a woman living there escaped without injury, firefighters said.
Crews simultaneously knocked down the 9:46 p.m. fire at 5112 W. Rosewood Ave. and searched for a second occupant, but firefighters learned later he was away at the time.
Damage was contained to the front porch and living room with smoke damage throughout the main floor. No injuries were reported. Seven fire rigs with 24 firefighters went to the scene. The cause is under investigation.
