Riverfront Park’s Looff Carrousel closed for restoration Monday.

The Carrousel will reopen March 2 with a Tuesday-Sunday schedule initially. It will be open daily during spring break week.
Silver Mountain skiing to resume
Skiing at Silver Mountain will reopen Thursday after crews replaced a bearing in the resort’s famous gondola.
Fixing the problem took about 300-plus worker hours, Marketing Director John Williams said. “It’s a major surgery,” he said.
Skiing at the Kellogg resort closed Friday, although its other attractions such as the Morning Star Lodge and Silver Rapids water park remained open.
Copperfield’s accuser charged
BELLEVUE, Wash. – A 23-year-old woman who accused illusionist David Copperfield of rape has been charged in an unrelated case with the misdemeanors of prostitution and filing a false police report.
Bellevue city prosecutors say Lacey Carroll tried to solicit $2,000 for sex from a 31-year-old man on Dec. 2.
When he refused to pay, she allegedly told hotel staff he tried to take advantage of her. Police reports say she suggested to investigators she had been drugged and awoke to find him on top of her.
Detectives said hotel surveillance video showed the pair behaving affectionately. Carroll accused Copperfield of raping her two years ago, but federal prosecutors in Seattle closed their investigation this month without filing charges.
