Allegro, Baroque and Beyond, others to perform Friday

From Staff Reports

Allegro, Baroque and Beyond makes a musical journey to Paris on Friday at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave.

“A Night at the Theatre Italien” features several works by Rossini and one by Brod. Rossini, a native of Italy, served as director of the Italian Theatre in Paris and provided new compositions for both that company and the Paris Opera.

Dancers from Theatre Ballet of Spokane will perform Rossini’s “Cenerentola (Cinderella).”

William Davis, a bassoon professor at the University of Georgia, will join Allegro’s Y-chun Chen – playing a restored Collard & Collard grand piano, circa 1850 – and oboist David Dutton.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. Single tickets are $18 to $25, or $30 to $50 for a family of four.
