McConnell, Bantams edge Stags
Held to just six points for the first 31½ minutes of the game against Deer Park, Clarkston’s Dustin McConnell scored four in the final 30 seconds to lift the Bantams (11-3, 7-1) to a 51-48 Great Northern League win Saturday in Deer Park.
The Stags (10-4, 6-2), led by Jared Pyeatt’s 10 points and 13 rebounds, held a one-point lead in the final minute, but they allowed a bucket and a pair of free throws by McConnell. With two weeks left in league play, the Bantams have a sound hold on first place, having swept the second-place Stags this season.
Riverside 57, Colville 45: Dustin Martin had 15 points and five assists, and Jordan Wood added 14 points to lead the Rams (7-8, 4-5) over the Indians (2-13, 1-8) in Riverside. The Rams took a 17-10 lead after one quarter and built their lead to as high as 16 after three quarters.
Medical Lake 46, West Valley 42: Ryan Wagner scored all 15 of his points from beyond the 3-point line, going 5 of 10 from beyond the arc, to lead the host Cardinals (2-12, 1-7) to their first win of the league season. The Eagles (7-7, 4-4) had 12 points from Jake Bucholz but couldn’t overcome a 30-15 first-half deficit.
Bi-County 2B
Lind-Ritzville 68, Liberty 36: James Stevenson had 22 points to lead three players in double figures in the Broncos’ (14-4, 7-3) win over the host Lancers (5-13, 1-9). Jake Eichner and Jacob Schofstoll had 13 each for the Broncos, who closed the game on a 23-8 run.
Reardan 53, Valley Christian 29: Trever Peone finished with a game-high 12 points and Jake Hight scored seven of his 11 points in the first half to help the Indians (9-9, 5-6) take a 12-point halftime lead over the Panthers (2-16, 0-10) in Reardan.
Northwest Christian 44, Davenport 40: Cole Ramey and Kwinn Hanson scored 11 of the Crusaders’ (15-3, 9-1) 14 points in the fourth quarter to edge the Gorillas (14-4, 7-4) in Colbert. Both finished with 16 points and Ramey hit three free throws in the final moments.

Odessa 64, Sprague-Harrington 53: Kramer Schutz hit three 3-pointers and finished with 25 points and freshman Justin Hunt hit 12 of his 16 points from the free-throw line to propel the Tigers (8-11, 2-3) past the visiting Falcons (2-16, 1-4).
District 9 North
Tri-Cities Prep 45, LaCrosse-Washtucna 34: Will Hoppes had 17 points and hit three 3-pointers in the first half to help put the Jaguars (6-3, 6-2) up 28-15 over the Tigercats (7-12, 2-7) at the break in Pasco.
Tekoa-Oakesdale 60, Asotin 51: Brandon Hovde scored a team-high 24 points with seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals to lift the Nighthawks (3-14, 1-3) over the Panthers (9-8, 2-3) for their first league win in Asotin. Ben Servatius finished with 30 points for the Panthers, adding 13 rebounds.
Garfield-Palouse 62, Pomeroy 48: Blake Slocum and Gavin Burt combined for 29 points and Lee Roach added 12 as the Vikings (12-4, 4-1) finished off the Pirates (6-10, 2-2) early with a 15-point edge at halftime in Pomeroy. The Pirates were led by Grant Jenkins’ 14 points.
Colton 53, Touchet 42: Dustin Patchin scored 20 points and Sam Robertson tallied 15 to help the Wildcats (7-10, 3-5) top the Indians (5-7, 3-5) in Colton.
Panorama
Republic 62, Columbia 40: Justin Wilson scored nine points for the host Tigers (11-8, 7-8) in the third quarter to help them take a 15-point lead by period’s end. Wilson finished with 20 on 7-of-10 shooting, while Dominic Marquez paced the Lions (3-17, 3-12) with 19 points.
Northport 64, Curlew 53: Matt Owings had 15 points and six steals, Philip Johnson added 12 points, eight boards and six steals and after the Cougars (0-18, 0-15) took a 13-12 lead after one quarter, the Mustangs (7-10, 5-9) took over, scoring 34 of the next 51 points to pull away in Northport.
Wellpinit 63, St. George’s 61: Jordan Dickson hit a 3-pointer to pull the Dragons (15-5, 11-3) within two points late, but the Redskins (17-2, 14-0) held out for the victory at St. George’s. Dickson finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while the Redskins were paced by Cody Flett’s 20 points.
Inchelium 61, Selkirk 53: Chad Rosenbaum had 28 points and 16 rebounds with 10 of his points coming at the free-throw line in the Hornets’ (13-5, 10-4) win in Inchelium. The Rangers (12-8, 9-6) tied the game 31-31 at halftime with a half-court shot by Walker Pettis, but fell behind by 12 after the end of the third.
Cusick 71, St. Michael’s 43: Five Panthers (15-5, 11-3) finished in double figures, led by 16 from Tyler Edwards, and the host Warriors (2-13, 2-12) trailed by 12 at halftime. Edwards and Louie Bluff combined for 27 points and 24 boards.
Nonleague
Lakeland 51, Lake City 47: Caleb Guerber hit 3 of 4 from the free-throw line in the last 16 seconds to secure the win for the Hawks (11-6) in Rathrdrum. Joel Underdahl scored 24 points with 10 rebounds in the win. Mark Smyly paced the Timberwolves (10-6) with 17 points.
St. John-Endicott 52, Dayton 43: Dillon Schmick scored 22 points to lead the Eagles (8-9, 3-5) to a victory over the Bulldogs in Dayton. Garrett Turner had a game-high 24 to lead the Bulldogs.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 74, Colfax 70 (OT): Derek Isaak led all scorers with 26 points and the Warriors (11-7) held on in overtime, hitting 10 of 14 free throws to outscore the Bulldogs (12-6) 16-12. James Robinson had 22 to lead the Bulldogs, including a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime.
Inland Empire
Sandpoint 46, Moscow 45: Senior Stefan Buratto had 18 points for the Bulldogs (5-9, 1-2), playing all 32 minutes, and scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to give them a six-point lead that held up in Moscow. The Bears’ (11-4, 1-1) Mac Stannard tallied a team-high 15 points but missed the potential winning bucket at the buzzer.
Intermountain
Timberlake 59, Bonners Ferry 48: Derek Tymesen led all scorers with 19 points, Cooper Simpson added 14 and the host Tigers (8-9, 1-4) earned their first league win by beating the Badgers (5-9, 2-3) in Spirit Lake.
Priest River 50, St. Maries 39: Eric Holbrook and Jake Weimer led the way for the Spartans (12-3, 4-0) with 14 points apiece to beat the Lumberjacks (6-6, 2-3) in St. Maries.
North Star
Kootenai 56, Lakeside 54: At Plummer, Jacob Zarpentine had 17 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists and the Warriors (8-9, 4-1) barely held off the host Knights (6-8, 1-2), who were led by Andrew Boyd’s 13 points.
Central Idaho
Kamiah 55, Coeur d’Alene Charter 37: Darian Ball had 22 points and Jack Nygaard added 15 as the Kubs (6-3, 2-0) upended the visiting Panthers (11-7, 3-2), led by Bob Schrack’s 16.
