Employee robbed while depositing car wash’s cash

A car wash employee making a cash deposit at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday was robbed at knifepoint, with a 4- to 6-inch blade held to his throat.

Spokane Valley police reported that the robbery occurred at a US Bank branch at 9208 E. Sprague Ave. while the employee was attempting to deposit cash from Mr. Car Wash.

When confronted by the robber, the male employee dropped the bags to the ground, raised his hands in the air and backed way, he told police. The robber grabbed one of the bags and ran southeast.

The robber was described as a white man, about 5-foot-8 and slender. He had sunken cheeks and shoulder-length brown hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with horizontal stripes and dark pants.
