Riverfront Park - Festival begins at 11 a.m. with activities for kids and adults, including park pass specials, food, vendors, arts and crafts, beer garden and live music. Spokane Jazz Orchestra and fireworks display at dusk. Entertainment at Clocktower Stage: 1 p.m., American Idol competition, Spokane’s top 10; 2 p.m., KZZU Karaoke Stage, live competition; 4 p.m., Matt Russell, acoustic pop-rock; 5 p.m., The Parchman, blues. Lilac Bowl Stage: 3 p.m., Andrew Belle, River FM rising star; 4 p.m., Coleman Undergrounds, ’80s covers; 5 p.m., Soul Proprietor, Tower of Power; 7 p.m., Opening Ceremony; 7:30 p.m., Spokane Jazz Orchestra, featuring American standards; 10 p.m., fireworks show. Coeur d’Alene - American Heroes Parade at 11 a.m. along Sherman Avenue. Enjoy music, food vendors, pie-eating contest and children’s activities in City Park. Fireworks at dusk. Free. Lake cruises available to view fireworks at $25.75-$55.75/person, boards at 8 p.m. (800) 688-5253.

Silver Mountain - Firecracker Run with registration at 7:30 a.m., Kellogg Middle School, and run at 9 a.m. along the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes. From 8:30-11:30 a.m., Kellogg Elks Pancake Breakfast at the Elks lodge. At 1 p.m., the parade begins at Division at Main Street and continues to Kellogg City Park. Noon, celebration at Kellogg City Park with food, live entertainment, children’s activities, Silver Hoops Shoot, beer garden, swimming pool open 2-4 p.m., horseshoe tournament from 2-5 p.m., Idaho history re-enactments; and free rides on the Wallace-Kellogg Trolley, noon-6 p.m. and after fireworks; 7-10 p.m., live music by Generation Gap; 10 p.m., fireworks display. Silver Valley Independence Day Celebration - Activities include live music entertainment by Generation Gap, Firecracker 5K Fun Run, Star Spangled Community Parade, free family activities in the park, street fair with food arts and craft vendors, and a Grand Finale Fireworks display. Patriotic Dessert Social - Enjoy a panoramic view of the area’s fireworks displays from the cliffs of Mount St. Michael. Gate opens at 8 p.m. Bring your own chairs and flashlights.
