Troop 3014 donates quilt
Girl Scout Troop 3014 in Athol had a plan to help comfort children of violence and wrap them in warmth and safety.
The girls designed and created a quilt for the North Idaho Violence Prevention Center. The troop put their names and creative pictures on each square of the quilt to share with the children who visit the center.
The girls donated the blanket to Tamarah Cardwell, NIVPC volunteer coordinator.
Anne Chatfield, executive director of the center, said in a press release, “Those who see and hear violence in the home suffer physically and emotionally. We offer refuge, hope and healing to victims of violence. Of course, the quilt is warm and comforting, but it’s knowing other people care about them; that’s what encourages child victims and gives them hope,” she said.
