Couple who died in boating accident from Sandpoint
One man survives late-night crash into Long Bridge pilings
The couple killed in a late night boating accident Saturday on Lake Pend Oreille have been identified as Darby Campbell, 30, and his wife Amber Campbell, 34, both of Sandpoint.
According to the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, the two were in a motorboat that smashed into the pilings and supports of the Long Bridge near Sandpoint about 11:20 p.m. A third occupant, 31-year-old Gerred Campbell, survived the crash and was taken to Bonner General Hospital. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
A story from the Aug. 14, 2009 Bonner County Daily Bee indicates that Amber Campbell was co-owner of the Wildflower Day Spa in downtown Sandpoint with Dauray Owens. Campbell’s Facebook page indicates that she and her husband Darby split their time between Sandpoint and Maui and had been married since 2007. She was a 1994 graduate of Sandpoint High School.

They were from the area, miscalculation is my guess.

Miscalculation is a possibility, but in order to be killed you would also be most likely going too fast at night. And yes there are boating speed limits at night.

Surprised to not see the jerk that said it was me.. search the article last night and see how confused people really are.
For the family I am sorry to hear of the loss. No matter the “founded” cause it’s a tragedy.

Glad to see you are not yet no-more “nomore”. I was just hoping that it might be safer for everybody if you didn’t have issues with following the laws…
BTW, you are the one confused if you took my earlier comment literally :)
