The couple killed in a late night boating accident Saturday near Sandpoint have been identified as Darby Campbell, 30, and his wife Amber Campbell, 34, both of Sandpoint.

They were among three people in a motorboat that smashed into the pilings and supports of the Long Bridge on Lake Pend Oreille about 11:20 p.m., according to the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office.

Gerred Campbell, 31, survived the crash and was taken to Bonner General Hospital. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
