Plane crash near Keller kills one, seriously injures another

By The Spokesman-Review

One man is dead and another seriously injured after their plane became tangled in a power line north of Keller, Wash., according to the Colville Tribal Police Department.

Justin Marchand, 21, of Colfax, and Elwyn Fletcher, 66, flew into the power lines on Highway 21, around 6:45 this morning. The fixed-wing, single-engine Cessna was registered to Fletcher Cattle Co. of Mesa, Wash., according to Tribal Police.

Fletcher died at the scene. Marchand was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where a nursing supervisor this afternoon said he was in serious condition.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the accident. Tribal police are unsure who was piloting the aircraft.
